Hailing from the streets of L.A., Wolfgang Bang remind me of another indie band that I recently reviewed called The Switch Ups. They play a straightforward guitar driven punk style similar to the Ramones with a touch of the Oi sound added in. You gotta love the sexually suggestive name for the band as well.

Most of the songs chug along at a Ramones pace and the song titles are obviously influenced by the Ramones. (Bambi Went To France, Glue Afternoon, I Just Wanna Be Alone) Wolfgang Bang aren’t breaking down any musical barriers with their sound. Like I said before, it’s basically straightforward punk n’ roll with some good guitar solos and the typical Ramones chug a lug sound for most of the nine songs on this album. “Dirty Feet” would be the exception. This song could have been mistaken for a Queers song. It’s faster than any song on the album and deals with a dirty hirsute in purple underwear. “Ursula Finally Has Tits” anyone? A good way to end a decent album.

What Are You Going To Do? is definitely worth the half hour listen. For a self-released album, the sound quality was excellent and the production was very good with all the instruments being distinguishable and very crisp. The sound is similar to the Ramones, The Queers, or the Mr. T Experience with just a little more street punk than the latter two bands. All in all, I enjoyed Wolfgang Bang in their half hour sonic experience.

Bottom Line:
Notable Tracks: Bambi Went To France, Don’t Shoot Dope, A Soul Full Of Hate, Dirty Feet
