Goldfinger finally delivers their first DVD Release, with a great performance from the House of Blues. Shot with multiple cameras, it offers a nice refreshing balance between straight away shots and close up/sign angles. Though, the set is about 45 minutes long, the band puts everything into the performance.

I have to say seeing Goldfinger live and on the DVD, they have one of the best live shows around today. They totally rock out, and know they do. I wish they played some older songs as well. For a headlining band, 45 minutes is pretty quick. Of course they have to show Darrin, the drummer, his ass the whole damn time throughout the DVD. Less time with Darrin’s ass, and play some more songs I think.

The extras are short and sweet. A 15-20 minute extra video compilation of footage taken over the course of their careers. Clips are shown over several songs not featured in the live show, a few tunes are though. The last clip features John, the singer on the Genesis Awards singing a nice solo about animal rights. Pretty touching. Also, is a band commentary over the entire concert. Hear silly thoughts and banter, more than insightfulness on this track.

Overall, I enjoyed the concert very much so. I was hoping for a little more, but maybe in the future there will be another concert with a longer set, music videos, and more home videos.
