Is this the end of Little Britain? Is this why BBC needs to release a complete collection? It might be the end of the UK series (minus specials here and there) but now Lucas & Walliams are bringing their wacky characters over to the United States next year. So what better way to watch Little Britain with the entire collection! This complete collection of Little Britain is fantastic because it includes everything the duo have ever done over in the UK. The Complete Collection includes the first three series (or seasons to us Yanks), Little Britain Live and the newest specials, Little Britain Abroad!

For those who don’t know what Little Britain is, it’s a British sketch comedy series that’s probably the biggest thing over there since the Beatles. Each episode, you might see the same characters or you might see a character that was just created for one sketch. Either way you’ll laugh your ass off! Some of the most popular characters include: Daffyd Thomas (the only gay in the village), Lou and Andy (Andy pretends to be handicapped), Anne (a mental patient who acts normal one minute but then goes off the deep end), Marjorie Dawes of Fat Fighters (she’s really insensitive and cruel), Sebastian Love (who’s in love with his boss, the Prime Minister), and of course Vicki Pollard (a rude, fast talking white trash skank). Of course there are plenty more characters on the show but what’s the point of spoiling all the funny characters for you.

When it comes to Little Britain, I think the first series is my least favorite. It starts things off great and sets the tone of the TV show. I think the second series is where the show really shines and takes off in popularity though. Maybe I’m just biased since that’s where I started to watch the TV series. I discovered it on a Virgin Atlantic flight over to London in December 2005 and have been a die-hard fan ever since. Nothing like watching Bubbles strutting around naked or a guy breast feeding on his Mum on an airplane. I still remember laughing my ass off, and hiding my face because I was so embarrassed for the people around me. But I think the second series is still the strongest. It has a lot of hilarious sketches, and I just think it’s the funniest out of the three seasons.

Little Britain Live DVD came out in May and it’s included in this set as well. This DVD was excellent as well as the series DVDs. If you never got the chance to see the comedy show on the road, this is the second best thing! You get to see all your favorite characters on stage, and interact with the audience. I saw the last London show last December and it’s probably one of the funniest things I’ve seen. It was definitely one of the highlights of my London Trip last year.

The Little Britain Abroad DVD has the two specials that aired last Christmas on BBC. I thought they were great episodes and it was nice to see the characters out of their realm and in different settings. The specials had some special cameos from some famous British actors like Steve Coogan, Ronnie Corbett, and Dawn French. Coogan played a pilot in a Lou & Andy sketch and the plane was headed to Disney World. You can only guess what happens on the airplane when Andy gets ahold of the plane. All the other characters are back as well! Carol Beers gives a bus tour of Spain, Bubbles is her usual self and on the prowl, Vicki Pollard was in a Thailand prison for drug trafficking and Marjorie Dawes of Fat Fighters travels to Miami Florida and quickly realizes she can’t say the stuff she said over in the UK. Sebastian, Daffyd Thomas, Mr Mann, Ting Tong and others are back as well! The Extras include the full comic relief Live show and it’s quite funny! It’s pretty much the same thing as the Little Britain Live DVD except their some celebrities that show up as well. It’s quite the sight to see the real Dennis Waterman show up and defend his name. It’s a nice surprise for the viewers. The Dennis Kay sketch during the Live shows has always been the funniest one out of the bunch. So many young guys have been molested on stage by Walliams, yet there is no law suit. If that happened to an American, I’m sure they would have sued them long ago.

If you like Little Britain and don’t own any of the DVDs yet, then getting this Complete Collection is a no brainer! If you just want to get the Little Britain Abroad DVD, then you can get that DVD for pretty cheap.
