THUNDER! THUNDER! THUNDERCATS HOOOOOOO!!!! I used to watch the Thundercats all the time when it originally aired and then later on in syndication. It’s been a long time since I actually watched an episode but who is this second Snarf character and why the hell is it so annoying?

Thundercats is about a small group of cat-like people called Thunderans (aka ThunderCats) from the planet Thundera. They flee the planet just before it’s destroyed and they crash land at the nearest planet (Third Earth) and declare it new Thundera. But not everything is all peachy since they had a band of mutants and assassins on their tale and follow them to the planet. The Thunderans’ leader Jaga kicks the bucket and Lion-O inherits the Sword of Omens, the most bad-ass sword ever! The sword has an eye on it and it can see into the future and if people are in danger. It can also flash a big Thundercats symbol in the sky when Lion-O is in danger…which is just about every episode. For being a leader, he certainly gets himself into trouble a lot. Season 2 Volume 2 is the last batch of episodes of the 80’s cartoon and sees the end of Mumm-Ra. Or at least you think he’s gone but he always seems to come back and annoy the Thundercats. Don’t worry though, Thundercats have their fair share of enemies and annoying characters to fight this season! The season is tied up at the end and has a bit of closure, but still sort of leaves things open.

I totally forgot how cool the Thundercats theme song was! It’s been awhile since I saw this show and always loved the opening theme sequence. It’s just annoying you can’t skip to the next scene if you plan on watching episode after episode. The first episode I slightly remember and but don’t remember this Snarfer character at all! But maybe I just blocked this stupid character out of my mind. It’s just so damn annoying, especially when it’s screaming! Then I heard the villains’ voice and it made my eardrums bleed. There are just a lot of characters on this show that are just irritating to me now. I was watching one episode on the first disc (forget which one, second episode maybe?), it occurred to me that one of the bad guys called Snarfer a Pussy Lover. Yes you heard me correctly! It was some banished robot pirate and he called Snarfer a wimp lover! Most of you have heard the Thundercats outtakes so it’s not so hard to believe that that word got into the episode. I found it funny as hell and had to rewind the part again to believe what I was hearing.

As far as the season goes, I don’t think it was as good as the first season. But then again, I don’t remember the first season very well. I know it kicked ass and was a lot of fun. Plus I found Cheetara really hot! Yes I know she’s a cartoon character but so is Jessica Rabbit and I would totally do her too. ANYWAY, this season has a lot of great episodes as well and has a sense of closure on the series. The show doesn’t particularly look that great and wish they made a little more effort on cleaning the DVD up. But the Thundercats Season 2 Volume 2 Set is still worth owning if you love the cartoon series and already have the other 3 DVD sets. Now you can do your Thundercats marathon like you wanted all these years! HOOOOOOOO!!!
