Los Angeles’ ska, reggae, rocksteady outfit THE AGGROLITES are confirmed for a national headlining tour supporting their May 9 self-titled Hellcat Records debut. THE AGGROLITES kick-off their summer tour with a release party May 28 at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood with special guest The Briggs, Chris Murray Combo, The Allentons, Strong Arm and The Bullies.

The tour follows two Amoeba Records in-store performances in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and a sold-out West Coast run opening for labelmates The Slackers. In March, THE AGGROLITES opened for Rancid as part of the Tuesday night Hellcat residency at the Echo in Los Angeles.

The album features nineteen slamming tracks that truly showcase the depth and diversity of talent this band possesses. Produced at Signet Studios (aka Motown West) in Hollywood by Aggrolites guitar player Brian Dixon, the band captures a sound that is best described as late-60’s Jamaican reggae. Tracks like “Death At Ten Paces,” “Fury Now,” and “Love Isn’t Love” graze across the varied landscape of funk (The Meters), soul and rocksteady.
