OSLO, NORWAY Scandinavia’s answer to ummm no one (no band comes close), TURBONEGRO are unleashing their newest hard rock opus, the highly-anticipated Party Animals on Abacus Recordings on August 23, 2005. And what better way to prove their power than with a Fall Tour supporting the album starting in Baltimore, MD on October 7th and ending on October 21st in Seattle, WA (see below for tour dates). International Noise Consipiracy and Early Man will support.

Having rocked the punk scene in Oslo since the late eighties, TURBONEGRO has developed into one of the world’s biggest underground rock bands. Releasing seminal, classic albums such as Ass Cobra and Apocalypse Dudes, TURBONEGRO’s cult-like status was cemented when they released their album Scandinavian Leather last year. “Most rock n’ roll bands start as a riot but end up as a parody. We started up as a parody but ended up as a revolution,” said bassist Happy-Tom.

With the razor-sharp searing “Death from Above” and pounding apocalyptic “Final Warning” (featuring backing vocals by former QOTSA’s Nick Olivera), Party Animals continues in TURBONEGRO’s savage fashion, but turns up the amps to 13. The frenetic “Wasted Again” features Black Flag/Circle Jerks original vocalist Keith Morris whose mere presence instantly adds to the cool quotient.

Licensed from Burning Heart Records, Abacus Recordings’ U.S. version of Party Animals will include the hilarious “Workout” DVD. Clearly an unstoppable punk-rock juggernaut, TURBONEGRO aims to hit the States in October to prove that their album title is no fluke.
