Gyptian- “Hold You”
Album Reviews | Aug 24th, 2010
Genre: Reggae/R&B/Lover’s Rock
Record Label: VP Records
Gyptian, a Jamaican up and coming artist, who is having a summer success with cross over hit “Hold You” brings his latest with current record “Hold You .” Currently on tour with Nas and Damian Marley in support of his new record, fans cannot get enough of Gyptian. Gyptian’s goal is to make all the ladies of the world “swoon” for his music.
Brought up in a religious household with a mix of Christianity and Rastafarian, Gyptian was always surrounded by spirituality but was led to make his own decisions and decide his own path. Music was his path, and Gyptian sought to reach the masses. A fan of the ladies, most of Gyptian’s music is about love, the problems related to relationships, seduction, and the art of the woman. Gyptian provides a more R&B/Lover’s Rock approach to his reggae music that has helped his success with being a summer cross over hit with the Hip Hop/R&B market.
Bottom Line: A big summer sensation, with the hit single “Hold You” but it’s not my kind of reggae music
Notable Tracks: Hold You, Beautiful Lady, All in You
Overall:
