With a name like Isle of View, I’m thinking they are some folk rock band but no, they are a pop punk band from Baltimore, Maryland. Their sound is catchy and really sharp! I can’t believe this is their debut album because the music is top notch for a band that’s just starting out. I’m surprised there are bands out there that still want to play pop punk like this, because it’s not the “in” thing right now.

The vocals are fitting with the music and don’t sound out of place. Their music contains hooks, choruses, and whoas that make their stuff enjoyable to listen to. I didn’t have the urge to skip to the next song either. At the height of pop punk a few years ago, when every band was playing it, it got really saturated. But I think now other bands are doing other things, like post-hardcore, emo, whatever-core, I can start to listen to this type of stuff again. Isle of View surprised me a lot and I actually think this CD is really good.

Bottom Line: Catchy pop punk from Maryland!
Notable Tracks: Fall Asleep and Die, He Who Laughs Last, Ransom
