Furious. That’s the best word to describe the Overdogs. With “Pawnshop Masterpiece”, furious can be used to describe each and every song.
A lot of punk records move along as a steady pace with your constant chug-a-lug-drum-repeat sound with out ever really letting loose. The Overdogs have no problem with melting the flesh off of your face. From the first intro track, a minute and a half lighting-paced punk rock instrumental, to the last track, a self titled Oi anthem, the songs fly past a mile a minute with little time to catch your breath.
The Overdogs are a throwback to early Fat Wreck and Epitaph bands. (Remember when Epitaph was cool? I do.) They’re one of those bands that make you want to start a circle pit in the comfort of your living room. With a good old-fashioned “Fuck You” punk attitude and the riffs to back it up, the Overdogs are ready to tear the punk scene a new asshole.
Bottom Line: Punk rock like punk rock should be…fast and with lots of fuck yous.
Notable Tracks: Groupies, Mall Punks, The Overdogs
