Rise of the Lycans is the latest movie from the Underworld series. It stars Bill Nighy, Michael Sheen, Rhona Mitra, and Kevin Grevioux. The film tells the story of the origins of Lucian, who was the first werewolf able to take human form. It sounds like a cool flick but probably something I’ll never get around to watching. I still haven’t seen the other movies with Kate Beckinsale.

Paul Haslinger has composed the first Underworld movie and he’s back again to score this one. For those of you who don’t know, Haslinger was a part of the electronic group Tangerine Dream. His score to Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is okay and has a few standout tracks. I feel like if you don’t see the Underworld movies, you won’t appreciate the music as much. The track “The Rise of the Lycans” is the best track on the whole score. When there isn’t any action going on, the score gets too quiet and boring. If you liked the music from the movie, be sure to get the score by Haslinger. A music soundtrack is also available as well.

Bottom Line: A decent score from Haslinger
Notable Tracks: The Rise of the Lycans , Court Battle Suite
