I’ll admit I liked the Rapture’s first album. Or some songs off it at least. House of Jealous Lovers was a song that it was hard not to dance to. But on their follow-up three years later, there’s nothing that really screams awesomeness like their previous work. Especially because the album fodder songs on the last one were just plain shitty. So imagine a whole album filled with those. A couple of listenable tracks, but then some so bad that they might as well been released by Fall Out Boy. Seriously, First Gear’ sounds like a few teenagers playing with a laptop and a synth machine and rejected Gloria Estefan beats. I recommend this only to those who need it to add to their hipster rating, or to prove that people still buy albums. Because they don’t. Just download some remixes of House of Jealous Lovers and get on with your life.

Bottom Line: Ooh, look at me, I’m from Williamsburg. I can sing over shitty disco beats and sing about nothing at all.
Notable Tracks: Whoo! Alright-Yeah…Uh-huh (seriously, there’s a song with that title)
