Loose and eclectic in a “hey, let’s do a bunch of stuff and record it” kind of way, Subculture Stereo put more emphasis on being zany than on being good.
These kinds of bands are always hit and miss, but there wasn’t anything on here that grabbed my attention either way. I guess it’s pretty bad when you play many different styles and nothing sticks. The best thing I can say is that they at least sound like they’re having fun. Also, the vocals reminded me a little of Camper Van Beethoven.
