Theory of Ruin features Alex Newport, formerly of Fudge Tunnel and Nailbomb. Their sound is if they took the two aforementioned bands, slowed them down and stripped them to their barest, darkest, and most abrasive elements, and then added mercilessly repetitious melodies a la Jesus Lizard or Wire.

This is definitely a rhythm-oriented noise band without the noise. They’re not thrashy enough to be either rockin’ or headache-inducing; but they do have some jerky, detuned melodic spurts that keep things interesting.
