I had no idea this was coming out, and when I saw it at the store, I popped a massive boner. TFUL282 is one of my all-time favorite bands you never heard of.

But I have to admit this album, their first since 1996’s I Hope It Lands, is disappointing it’s not an instant classic like Strangers From the Universe, I Hope It Lands, or Mother of All Saints, and requires some patience. It lacks the buzzing oddness and experimental poppiness of their best work; instead, it focuses more on the dissonant, lofi moodiness of their earliest albums. Whatever, I’m just happy that they’re still around!
