Somehow, Throwdown are better than the sum of their parts. Three things go against them: 1. They’re death metal masquerading as hardcore; 2. They’re straight edge and have songs about it; 3. Other cliched song topics include unity, the hardcore scene as a “family”, etc., and the lyrics are unimaginative.

And yet, they’re not that bad. I mean, they’re no Rush, but if a hot girl made me listen to them, I wouldn’t mind.
