I admit to liking the cheeky, ironic Casio-punk of Atom & His Package, The Capricorns, and to a lesser Casio-ridden extent, Helen Love and Le Tigre. But Tracy & The Plastics just don’t do it for me. Her voice has that annoying listless and monotone spoken-word quality, and the synths sound as bored and tired as she does. With the exception of “Hey Rubella,” the songs are a waste of potential for Casio fun and funkiness. They don’t “forever suck”, but they could be a lot better than they are.
