Sorry Folks, No Image Is Here.

I’m still waiting for the Spaceballs Flamethrower to officially hit the market but in the meantime, the comedy classic will debut on Blu-ray on June 16th. It will a Blu-ray + DVD combo packed with special features and is being released by MGM Home Entertainment. Also debuting is “Spaceballs: The Totally-Warped Adventures” On DVD featuring all-new cartoon parodies of film and TV from comic genius Brooks.

The Spaceballs saga continues at ludicrous speed as the fan-favorite classic comedy arrives on a Blu-ray + DVD Combo and the all-new wildly funny Spaceballs: The Totally-Warped Adventures debut on DVD June 16 from MGM Home Entertainment. Directed, written by and starring Academy Award winner Mel Brooks* (The Producers), as well as John Candy (Uncle Buck), Rick Moranis (Honey, I Shrunk the Kids), Bill Pullman (Independence Day), Daphne Zuniga (“One Tree Hill”) and Joan Rivers (Shrek 2), the original sci-fi-fueled satire, Spaceballs, lampoons everything from Star Wars and Alien to Star Trek and Planet of the Apes. The film follows fearless – and clueless – space heroes Lone Starr (Pullman) and his man-dog hybrid, sidekick Barf (Candy) as they wage interstellar warfare to free Princess Vespa (Zuniga) from the evil clutches of Dark Helmet (Moranis).

Spaceballs: The Totally-Warped Adventures includes a collection of all-new satiric adventures directed by Brooks. Originally airing on G4, the series of shorts reunites the original characters in animated form while mocking even more popular films and television series, including The Lord of the Rings, Spider Man, The Pirates of the Caribbean, “American Idol,” and more. Returning to voice the series are the immortally brilliant Brooks, Zuniga and Rivers along with Dee Bradley Baker (“American Dad!”).

Featuring an array of bonus features, including “Film Flubs,” commentary by Brooks, documentaries, featurettes, interviews and galleries, the Spaceballs Blu-ray + DVD Combo will be available for the suggested retail price of $29.99 U.S. / $32.99 Canada. The Spaceballs: The Totally-Warped Adventures DVD includes four full episodes as well as “intermissions” and will be available for $19.98 U.S. / $21.98 Canada.

*1969: Best Writing, Story and Screenplay – Written Directly for the Screen, The Producers

Synopses:
Spaceballs
When the Dark Helmet (Moranis) attempts to steal all the air from Planet Druidia, a determined Druish Princess (Zuniga), a clueless rogue (Pullman) and a half-man/half-dog creature who’s his own best friend (Candy) set out to stop him! But with the forces of darkness closing in, they’ll need the help of a wise imp named Yogurt (Brooks) and the mystical power of the “Schwartz” to bring peace – and merchandising rights – to the entire galaxy!

Spaceballs: The Totally-Warped Adventures:
The animated version of the wildly successful comedic film hilariously spoofs popular movies and television shows as only the warped mind of Mel Brooks can do. Taking place in the futuristic world of Planet Spaceball, and with returning characters from the original film, including President Skroob and Yogurt (voiced by Brooks), the show satirizes popular titles including The Lord of the Rings, Spider Man, The Terminator, The Pirates of the Caribbean and “American Idol” with light-hearted parody and slapstick comedy.
