Well, according to AltPress, the inevitable happened and Frank Turner has signed with a major label, Interscope Records. Tape Deck Heart will be out on Xtra Mile Recordings/Interscope on April 23rd. In the meantime, he will playing playing in the US, including NYC at Bowery Ballroom on March 4th.

I’m happy for Frank Turner for getting his music further out there but one has to wonder how long before Frank is annoyed at Interscope or vice versa. It’s happened time and time again with punk bands going major. I can either see Frank going back to an indie, smaller label next album or doing the smarter thing and just releasing the album himself. He’s got the fanbase so why not? But in any event, best of luck to Frank Turner and in any event, looking forward to the new album!

AltPress can exclusively announce that Frank Turner is set to release his upcoming album, Tape Deck Heart, via Xtra Mile/Interscope Records in the U.S. on April 23.
