Los Angeles, Calif., & Irvine, Calif., (June 27, 2005) Finger Records announced today that one of Southern California’s bestloved punk bands, The Adolescents (www.theadolescents.net ) will release “O.C. Confidential”, on July 12th, 2005. “O.C. Confidential” is The Adolescents first CD of new material since 1988’s “Balboa Fun Zone”.

To coincide with this release, The Adolescents will be celebrating their 25th Anniversary with a North American tour beginning July 14th in Boston, Ma. at Axis and ending on August 20th with a blowout hometown show at House of Blues – Anaheim. This is The Adolescents first national tour since 1989 and features a stop at the San Diego Street Scene in front of 60,000 in attendance on July 29th at Qualcomm Stadium. Tour dates are below.

“When I heard “O.C. Confidential”, I was blown away,” said Mel Schantz, owner of Finger Records. “Having seen the Adolescents live several times in the last year, I was already aware of how good the band still is today. The Adolescents play the music we all grew up on but when I realized that the songs on “O.C. Confidential” matched their classic older material, I knew we had to sign them.”

“O.C. Confidential” is The Adolescents fourth full-length release of new material since they formed in Fullerton, Calif. in 1980. In 1981, the band released their eponymous debut CD (also known as the blue album’) on Frontier Records and along with Agent Orange and Social Distortion became crowd favorites of the burgeoning O.C. punk scene. Amoeba’, the bands first single was prominently featured on noted DJ Rodney Bingenheimer’s compilation “Rodney on the Roq” and quickly established The Adolescents as fan favorites. According to All Music Guide, The Adolescents “helped establish the blueprint for Orange County punk’.

Since that time, the band has undergone various line-up changes and have recorded seminal releases like “Brats in Battalion” and have released archival recordings like “Complete Demos: 1980-1986”. In 2003, The Adolescents cemented their current line-up for “O.C. Confidential” and their 2005 summer tour. The Adolescents are: Tony Cadena on vocals, Steve Soto on bass, Frank Agnew on guitar, 18-year-old Frank Agnew Jr. on guitar and Derek O’Brien (Social Distortion) on drums.
