Westbound Train’s Obi Fernandez offers up a free download of new solo EP
Music News | Oct 13th, 2011

Obi Fernandez, best known for his work as the vocalist of Westbound Train, has catapulted back into swing of things with his brand-new solo work. Fernandez is offering a four-song EP of demos, entitled The Seaside Sessions, for free download in the Paper + Plastick webstore.
Fernandez, who released a 7” on Paper + Plastick during his time with Westbound Train, took some time off to record a handful of solo songs while the band is taking a break. His independent work reveals the core of his past endeavors while uncovering a previously hidden passion for soul and storytelling. The result was The Seaside Sessions, which serves as a precursor to Fernandez’s upcoming full-length.
The veteran vocalist will head into the Hurley Studio with Eric Novod at the end of November to record his first solo full-length record. Novod and Fernandez will both be producers and the album will be engineered by former Aggrolites member Brian Nixon.
Before then, however Fernandez will take off on a short tour beginning this weekend in Indiana.
