Solo album from the bassist of Jane’s Addiction. Before you joygasm, it doesn’t sound anything like Jane’s – except for some moody similarity with Jane’s lengthy, slow-basting, darkly bubbling downer tunes. You know, the ones we’d skip over in junior high.

There’s some done-well nelancholy rock accompaniment that’s sometimes grungy, sometimes gothy, and usually incorporating spacey and sinister-sounding effects. Eric’s voice is deep and drably monotone and reminds me of John Cale.

Not bad, but it didn’t grab me. Not that depressing music should be catchy, but this album is missing elements to keep up my interest.
