Screeching Weasel’s Television City Dreams was the band’s last album released on Fat Wreck Chords. Since Screeching Weasel are in the process of recording new music for the label, Ben Weasel decided to fix up the album: remix, remastered, updated the album art and add 5 songs that were originally left on the cutting room floor! It’s practically a new SW album!

I actually haven’t really listened to this album all that much but after listening to this remastered album, I’m going to start listening to it a lot more. The first few tracks (“Speed of Mutation,” “Dummy Up”) are classic Screeching Weasel I think. From listening to this album, and listening to the original Television City Dreams; I’m glad to see Ben revisited this because the sound mixing & production was the biggest culprit. The additional songs are nice, and make the remastered album worth buying alone. I believe those songs might have been on some compilations but it’s nice to have them on the album they were originally intended for. If you didn’t like Television City Dreams the first time around, give it another go. You might like the album a lot better now that it’s remastered, remixed and has more songs on it.

Bottom Line: Great Screeching Weasel album that originally got overlooked.
Notable Tracks: Speed of Mutation, Dummy Up, My Own World
