The fifth album from Strung Out is without a doubt their best yet. Heavy guitars but melodic vocals. Aggressive and emotional? Did I write that? OK, let’s start over. Strung Out blends metal (good metal, not this new shit) and punk rock. The songs are technical, but they’re still catchy. Usually a band with this kind of sounds fucks it up by screaming over everything, but Jason’s voice adds a nice contrast to what otherwise would have been a band that faded out a long time ago.

Bottom Line: Melodic hardcore with metal undertones? I dunno. I liked this CD, as their previous CDs.
Notable Tracks: Analog, Katatonia, Never Speak Again
