I really don’t know much about Cream. Could be I just never liked them. I know maybe a couple of the popular stuff and that’s it. Fans who couldn’t make it to this will love to have this on Blu-Ray!

Cream only really had a few albums out in a short time period in the 60s. They are still considered one of the most influential rock bands of all time though. The band consists of the brilliant guitar playing of guitarist/vocalist Eric Clapton, bassist/vocalist Jack Bruce and drummer Ginger Baker. In 2005, the band reunited for a string of soldout shows at the beautiful Royal Albert Hall in London. The concert film was shot in high-definition and is about 2 hours long! They play all their classic stuff (White Room, Sunshine of Your Love) plus a lot of other stuff as well.

With these older bands from the 60s and 70s, the live shows just aren’t what they use to be when they come back for reunion shows. I don’t know how they were earlier on either but most of these classic rock bands just stand around. It’s boring honestly. Sure, they sound great but for a live concert paying a lot of money, I’d like to see them move further than 2 feet from their mic stand.

During “Sweet Wine,” (I think) you can see an audience member dancing in the seated venue, yet no one else around him is dancing. I would certainly hate that if I was in behind me. I know people are getting into in the crowd, but man, that stuff is annoying when no one else goes along with it.

The film looks great, and is worthy of a purchase on Blu-Ray. There’s alternate takes of some songs and interview with the band as well.
