Partial Terms of Endearment is the infamous banned episode from Family Guy that should have just been aired. There’s nothing in here that hasn’t been said before or thought about. The episode is very funny and actually makes you think, for a second anyway. This is Family Guy after all!

This episode starts out with Lois and Peter attending Lois’ college reunion. One of Lois’ ex shows up and ends up being a woman. Peter gets excited when her friend Naomi wants to discuss a proposition with them, and thinks it’s a threesome. But really, she can’t get pregnant from her husband and wants to have Lois carry her baby. She eventually agrees to it, only to find out that both Naomi and her husband were killed in an accident. She doesn’t know what to do about it but get an abortion. Peter gets brainwashed, I mean informed by abortion protesters and doesn’t want her to go through with it.

Like I said above, this episode should have been broadcast. The people that would be offended by this episode are too busy reading the bible on Sunday nights anyway. Besides, if you’re watching Family Guy you know what to expect from the show. Offensive, over the top and very funny! I liked how they showed both sides of the abortion debate, and in the end, picked a side. I thought the episode was great and I found it particularly amusing since I have to deal with annoying, bible pushing abortion protesters outside my work everyday. There’s a Planned Parenthood in the same office development so that’s why. It’s just annoying to deal with these people that have nothing better to do with their lives than to hold up signs that no one reads and pray & sing to themselves. Why not concentrate on yourself instead of something that isn’t even alive yet? But anyway, back to Family Guy. The episode had a brilliant bit in the middle where the protesters showed Peter a video that tells him if there were no abortions, there would have been someone to stop Hitler. There’s a few other hilarious tidbits in there but I’ll let you watch it.

Is this worth buying just for one episode? Depends. Depends on how much of a Family Guy fan you are. There’s certainly a handful of bonus features to watch after the episode. There’s audio commentary, a live table read, Seth & Alex’s Almost Live Comedy show which isn’t that great, and some downloadable songs from Family Guy. This is only 10 bucks or less but not sure if this is really worth it. The real question is why the hell was this banned in America and aired in the UK? Because America are a bunch pussies and prudes I guess. But in the end, this should have aired on TV and put with one of the DVD sets. There’s no reason for this to get it’s own DVD. I would say just rent this one because I don’t justify the cost of buying a 23 minute episode.
