Well, Well,Well. The Old Mighty George finally releases a Star Wars title on DVD huh? Too bad it had to be Episode One; but whatever, I’ll take what I can get. Even though the majority of the people hate this movie, I still enjoyed it but it certainly doesn’t compare to the original trilogy. Now with that out of the way, this DVD is really good. It has lots of extras on here. The sound and picture quality are perfect. I watched most of the featurettes and the ones I enjoyed the most was the fighting one, and the ones that deal with special effects.

By far though, the best thing on this DVD is the “The Beginning,”(documentary) which goes from beginning to end on making the movie. It’s one of the best documentaries on the making of a film I’ve ever seen. The deleted scenes were decent. I think they chose some poor scenes to put back into the movie though. I don’t think the viewer needed to see more of the pod race. SHOW MORE DARTH MAUL GOD DAMNIT! We know you have scenes or footage of him in more fight scenes and in the desert fighting Qui Gon. It’s in the making of featurettes and in the still galleries! One scene I liked and wish they kept into the movie was when Qui Qon discovers the probe droid when leaving Anakin’s mom. It shows WHY they are running when going back to the ship. Duh, bad editing choice. Besides the million of featurettes to watch, there is also lots of trailers, character commercials, and the “Duel Of the Fates” music video. Also, if you have the DVD and a DVD ROM, you can view a really cool trailer for Episode 2 called “Mystery.” If you could tolerate this movie, get this. If you like star wars, this would be worth getting just for the extras.
