Another movie I’ve been waiting to come out on DVD for awhile now. I don’t care if this is a rip off of The Lord Of the Rings, Star Wars, Gulliver Travels, etc etc it’s still a fun movie to watch. For those you haven’t seen this movie, it’s about a “peck” named Willow who gets into lots of adventure with “the greatest swordsmen who ever lived,” played by Val Kilmer. He finds an abandoned baby near his village and that baby is sacred and is destined to overthrow the evil Queen. I love Val Kilmer’s character, Madmartigan,in this movie. He is very similiar to Han Solo and the type of lines he delivers. I almost wish they make a sequel to this because it could be really cool to see the little baby grown up and have Madmartigan and Willow team up again.

The technical aspects this disc is decent. You can tell that the picture quality was really bad before transfering this from film to DVD. But overall, it’s a good widescreen presentation. I didn’t really notice the sound quality too much. From what I could remember is was great. There’s a couple of featurettes on here. I watched the one called “Morf to Morphing” one and that was really interesting to watch. I didn’t really know that ILM was one of the first to do morphing on the big screen, and I wasn’t thinking it was first done with this movie but I guess it was. There are a few other special features on here like Warwick Davis audio commentary, a “making of” featurette and a couple of trailers and TV spots. If you liked Willow then definitely get this.
