Got to the show a little early and with the commute from the far parking lot to the main gate where the will call desk is, it took 15 minutes, but anyway, we got there just in time to see, more like hear, 3 song from Head Automatica.
I really like this band featuring Daryl from Glassjaw and Dan the Automator from the Gorillaz. They mix a funky sound with typical nyc post-punk. next was the Getup Kids, I really went to see them because they kick ass, well they did. They played many new songs, which is not bad, but I really wanted to hear old stuff. They played about 6 songs and then Thrice came on. I don’t care for them, but the teenie boppers really did.
Finally dashboard came out. Chris really knows how to get the crowd going, and he did. They played for an hour or so with a encore for another couple minutes. He played old and new stuff. and asked how many people remembered their show at Club Krome. Most did not. Why am I not surprised. There was an over abundance of Abercrombie and sandals and the beer, well $7 for a pint isn’t that bad.
I don’t like the art center that much, because the lawn is so far away, but yet so are the seats. Go out and get 4 minute mile from the Getup Kids. It’s worth it.
