Music News | Apr 29th, 2014
Hardcore punk legends 7 Seconds have announce their first headlining tour in over 8 years! They are about to release their new album Leave A Light On via Rise Records on May 27th. As far as the area shows, we already announced that they will be playing Black N Blue Bowl in Brooklyn, but they also will be playing Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, NJ on August 4th.
Legendary American hardcore punk band 7SECONDS is gearing up for their first national headline tour since 2006. This outing is in support of their new album LEAVE A LIGHT ON. The three week trek will kickoff on July 23rd at Club Sound in Salt Lake City, UT and will circle around the US concluding at Sacramento’s Midtown Barfly on August 15th. In addition, the band will be warming up by playing a few festivals and record release shows prior to their upcoming tour, which includes Pouzza Fest, Rain Fest, and Black N’ Blue Bowl.
Their 15th studio album Leave A Light On was produced, engineered, and mixed by Steve Kravac (Blink-182, Less Than Jake, MxPx) at Hell’s Half Acre Studio in Southern California and mastered by Michael Hately (Neil Young, Green Day, Metallica, Flaming Lips). The album contains 14 tracks of punk rock that are bursting with hardcore ethos. From the melodic title track “Leave A Light On” to the anthemic “Slogan On A Shirt” to the ’80s punk-infused “I Have Faith In You”, 7Seconds convey their wisdom and beliefs from a more organic place. The band recently revealed the first song “I Have Faith In You” which can be heard here: http://youtu.be/WVVckktM0Jk
7Seconds was formed on January 17, 1980 in Reno, NV. They’re among the longest-lived of any group from the first wave of Cali punk. To date, they’ve released a multitude of EPs, albums, and have appeared on numerous compilations.
7Seconds is Kevin Seconds (vocals), Steve Youth (bass), Troy Mowat (drums), and Bobby Adams (guitar). Their new album Leave A Light On will be released on May 27, 2014 via Rise Records.
