Delta Rae announced the release date for their second studio album, After It All. It will be set for release on April 7th via Sire/Warner Bros. Records. The band will be hitting the road soon and playing Webster Hall in NYC on April 14th.

Since their last release, Delta Rae has been traveling constantly, bringing their incredible live performance to sold-out crowds across the country. They’ll be returning to the road for a slew of headline and festival dates in support of After It All, kicking off February 7 for Mardi Gras in Galveston, Texas. A list of confirmed dates is below, and tickets for all headline dates go on sale this Friday, January 16.

Through their travels, the band has gradually landed on the themes to create this new album, a collection of songs that looks to the folklore and romance of the American frontier as a means of understanding our angst about what is yet to come. “Our goals for the record were to make something cinematic, romantic and American,” band member Eric Holljes says. The record began as a concept album, a story of young lovers who fall on hard times during the recent recession, but throughout the process it became clear that Delta Rae’s music had to tell stories as the band was personally experiencing them.

“We kept coming back to ourselves as we were writing,” says Brittany Holljes. “These songs were integral to our own stories in our own lives. It had to be an honest reflection of what we were feeling instead of being projected onto characters we created.”

The result is an epic 13-track album, created over the span of a year and a half, beginning in Los Angeles with Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Fleetwood Mac) in late 2013, continuing in Raleigh in the spring of 2014 and concluding with Peter Katis (Interpol, The National) in Bridgeport, CT during the fall of 2014. While the album has the same, distinctive “soft rock, bluesy style” that Billboard loved on the first record, the band pushed themselves to create something even bigger for After It All.

“We stretched ourselves immensely for this record,” Brittany says. “You can feel everyone’s heart in every moment. You can sense that all the pieces of the puzzle are important for the picture the album paints.”
