Sorry Folks, No Image Is Here.

The fans have spoken and The South Central Skankers have risen to be one of three finalists chosen to duke it out for The Best Breakout LA Artist VMA. The epic battle is set for August 1 at Six Flags Magic Mountain, where bands will compete in front of a celebrity panel. El ganador will be featured during the Live VMAs on September 13 and showcased on MTV Tr3s.

The top contenders performing along with The Skankers are La Banda Skalavera and No Way Jose. Although The Skankers were a last minute entry, dedicated fans helped them claw their way to the top 20 out of 116 LA bands, where MTV hand-picked the top three finalists. The spicy celebrity panel includes cantante Kat Deluna y los reggaetoneros Alexis y Fido.

The SCS first formed in the barrios of South Central LA in 2001. In the fall of 2003, SCS went to the studio to record their first L.P. After meeting Chris Perez, President and CEO of Captiva Records, The South Central Skankers have now played four years at the well-known Captiva Showcase during South By Southwest where they gained a reputation for supreme rock-ability. The digital pre-release of their debut album, Welcome to Lost Angeles, recently hit the streets to rave reviews.

With the stage set, brass shined and skanking shoes tied, The South Central Skankers are all geared up to kick the frijoles out of the competition. ¿Comprende?
