Sorry Folks, No Image Is Here.

Singer/songwriter William Elliott Whitmore has signed with Bloodshot Records and will release his Bloodshot label debut later in the year. The singer/banjo-ist/guitarist from Iowa is known his gravelly voice and I think he’s a perfect fit for the label!

The label posted the news on their Facebook page:

Bloodshot is thrilled to announce the signing of fabled Iowa singer/songwriter and banjo player/guitarist William Elliott Whitmore! W.E.W. will release his label debut later this year.

Whitmore says: “I remember going to the record store and buying Neko Case, The Sadies, and Whiskeytown 7 inches back in the late 1990’s. I’ve been a fan of Bloodshot as a label for a long time, so when the opportunity came up to be on their 20th anniversary comp a few years ago, I jumped on it. Shortly after that they put out a split 7 inch with Esmé Patterson and I, thus bringing my awareness and connection with the label full circle through the power of vinyl. Now I’ve joined their ranks officially, and I’m excited to see where this relationship takes us.”

Stay tuned for an announcement about his first Bloodshot full-length and corresponding tour dates.
