Sorry Folks, No Image Is Here.

This is a bit surprising! Trevor Noah will be the next host of The Daily Show. It was rumored he was the front runner before the weekend but the news is being made official today. Jon Stewart is set to leave anytime from July to the end of the year. Jason Jones left on Thursday night, his wife Samantha Bee (who should have been the next host) will be leaving soon to host her own show on TBS. This will be a fresher, younger generation Daily Show I suppose.

I would have picked a lot more people over Trevor Noah, mainly because I haven’t seen him all that much on the Daily Show so far. He’s been in like, 3 or 4 bits so far? I would have given it to a veteran of the show but whatever, hopefully The Daily Show doesn’t turn into The Nightly Show which has been clunky to say the least. Noah has hosted his own late night talk show in South Africa so maybe this will work out the way John Oliver is killing it over at HBO. Good luck Trevor Noah!

“The Daily Show” finally has its new host: Trevor Noah.

Noah, a South African comedian and one of the newest “Daily Show” correspondents, was mentioned Friday as the front-runner to replace Jon Stewart on the Comedy Central show. On Monday, The New York Times reported that Noah would officially take over hosting.

Since Stewart announced in February that he’d be stepping down from the show after hosting for over 15 years, a handful of possible replacements have been considered. Lists of the potential next host have included Jason Jones, Samantha Bee, Tina Fey and Jessica Williams, who said she was under-qualified for the position.
