Recorded direct-to-vinyl in Vienna at the famous Supersense Wien studio while the band was on tour recently, “Live And Acoustic In Vienna” is a benefit album with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Amnesty International.

Stripping the band down to just two acoustic guitars, this recording session saw Anti-Flag throwing out 5 classic AF tracks as well as a cover of the Ramones “The KKK Took My Baby Away”…all in one take each and recorded directly to wax. The digital tracks were then ripped directly from that one single vinyl record…the only one in existence, and the band is giving that away to one lucky fan!

While I’m not a fan of acoustic punk, or acoustic anything really, I have to admit that these songs sound pretty damn good. “Brandenburg Gate” is a song that was made to be played acoustic while other older songs like “Turncoat” and “This Is The End” received a new coat of paint with the acoustic sound. You also can’t go wrong with a cover song of my personal favorite Ramones track either.

When you take into account everything that is going on with this EP…from the charity that it is supporting, to recording direct-to-vinyl with each track only needing one take, to the band giving away an ultra-rare record to the fans and not keeping it for themselves to offer to the highest bidder, “Live And Acoustic In Vienna” is undoubtedly one of the coolest things to come from the punk scene is quite some time. Whether you’re an old-school Anti-Flag fan or one of the newer generation of fans of the band or of punk in general, make sure to do your part and show your support for this release. Anyone that purchases the album digitally on iTunes, Bandcamp or Amazon MP3 is eligible to enter to win the one of a kind piece of vinyl that spawned this EP.

Bottom Line: I REPEAT: An Anti-Flag album recorded direct-to-vinyl in one session needing only one take per song with the vinyl being given away to fans that purchase the album and with all proceeds going to a great cause…what isn’t there to love about this album. Everything about it oozes coolness.
