People may not like video game scores as much as film scores but in the last few years, gaming companies seem to have been paying more attention to them. Now they just don’t sound like second rate scores that’s just bland background noise. This score is a very exciting action-packed, western score!

This video game is from the creators of Warhawk. I guess it’s a third person shooter game? I don’t play games anymore so I don’t know. Christopher Lennertz has composed both film and games so he’s a perfect choice to work on this type of score. You might have heard his music in Horrible Bosses, Soul Plane, Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, and Alvin and the Chipmunks. Hmm, or maybe not. You probably know his work for the Medal of Honor games, Mass Effect 2 and 3 and others more than the movie scores. Anyway, this score actually surprised me because it’s really exciting. This isn’t your typical boring score.

“Homeworld” starts off the fast-tempo, action-packed intro song that sounds like something that would have been perfect for the Firefly series. That is, if Firefly had this budget and sounded this good. This sounds like it was done with a 100 person orchestra. A lot of the tracks have that thump thump, action songs filled with strings & guitars that makes you feel like you’re in a western. I love it. I highly recommend checking this game score out!

Bottom Line: Fans of the Firefly score will enjoy this
Notable Tracks: Homeworld, Come and Get It, Bring Em Home
