Beautifully crafted, fuzzy-headed electroclash with 80s synth and dark wave elements. Hushed male-female vocals, velvety guitar fuzz, and simple swaths of electro/synth create a wash of brooding but rich ambient rock.
New Order, Air, Postal Service, and Royksopp all seem like influences, which, of course, is a good thing. While not as spare as The xx, there’s that similar feeling of floating in dark, freezing space – a detached chilliness that is both ominous and mellowing.
Bottom Line: Disembodied new wave for a dystopian future.
