From what I heard of these guys, I was worried they would be a lame Against Me! clone. Luckily, the band knows how to rock and shuffles out a lot of energetic tunes that mix up Social D, Lagwagon, early Clash, and Dropkick Murphys (in throaty, earnest spirit). There’s an occasional touch of emo, but not enough to make me vomit.
The album does have a few acoustic/twangy songs that are sadly weak and distracting, but thanks to today’s technology I can hit “skip” as soon as I hear an acoustic string or harmonica. Overall, a good punky release for Social D fans.
