Toronto, Canada natives The Flatliners are back with their third record (second on Fat Wreck), after a long and strenuous touring schedule. Journeying all over the world, the band has decided this is the path they have chosen, and are better off for it. Bands come and go, and realize they can’t cut it out on the road, but The Flatliners are out there, day after day building a fan base from the ground up. Their sound features a nice mix of skater punk and a slight smidgen of ska-punk from their earlier days on the Union Label Group. With “Cavalcade” the Flatliners have put out a great, solid punk rock record.

It’s much easier to get out on the road with support from Fat Mike, and Fat Wreck Chords, and The Flatliners are on their way. “Cavalcade” was produced by long time producer and friend Steve Rizun, and even got a helping hand from Fat Mike. The Flatliners have a familiar sound, from what I can tell is close to a mix of The Suicide Machines and Rise Against, and others. The track that stood out the most was “Monumental” and I found myself humming it long after listening.

Bottom Line: 3rd record from The Flatliners and they just keep getting stronger and stronger.
Notable Tracks: Carry The Banner, Shithawks, Monumental
