Duran Duran were among one of the many bands I used to listen to growing up in the 80s. It’s kind of hard not listening to the UK group when growing up in that decade. Many of their hits like “Hungry Like A Wolf,” “Rio” and “Ordinary World” still get played heavily by me. This Blu-Ray is one of the better Blu-Rays I’ve seen from Eagle Rock!

Their concert was filmed in December 2011 at MAN Arena in Manchester, UK. There’s a total of 19 tracks on the Blu-Ray release and they play both new and the classics as well. I particularly liked seeing them play “A View To A Kill,” “The Reflex,” “White Lines,” “Ordinary World,” “Hungry Like a Wolf,” “Reach Up For the Sunrise” and of course “Rio.” I still think “A View To A Kill” is one of the better James Bond songs. “Reach Up For the Sunrise” is one of their newer songs but man it’s such a great pop rock song. Classic Duran Duran! I never really liked “Ordinary World” when I growing up as much as the others, but once that song appeared in the Daniel Craig movie Layer Cake, my opinion changed. Now it’s one of my favorites from the band.

Their concert performance comes across quite well on the video. Everything from the crowd interactions, the lighting and their performance; everything is pretty damn good with this release. I’d imagine it’s even better being there in person, especially in their native England. Besides the concert which was awesome, there’s also a behind the scenes documentary. I love music documentaries so I enjoyed that as well.

If you don’t own Blu-Ray, this is also available on DVD and CD.
