Another space movie, but this time with old people being sent up. This movie was very entertaining.
It had almost everything that you could expect from a movie like this. It had comedy, action, drama, and ughhh.. the old guy’s asses. That is not what I wanted to see dammit! Other than that it was all good. Clint Eastwood stars and directs and comes out as the best portrayed character (obviously) Donald Sutherland was awesome. He was hilarious. It was just those constant one liners and perverted old guy charm I guess. Every female that walked by he would hit on.
The movie is about 4 men who back in the 50’s could have been chosen to go up in space, but were dicked over by their boss, and a friggin monkey was sent up to space. If I was them I would have gone postal. It was weird to see the flashback in the beginning of the movie because they had young actors portraying them but with their own voices dubbed in. Some of the dubbing was good but some of it was pretty obvious.
Clint Eastwood had the best young look a like. The others weren’t too convincing. So now its the present date and some satellite crisis arises, with some gizmo that Clint designed. So they call him to the rescue. Some of the best parts of the movie is when they are training because they are all out of shape old farts. Though Clint still looks like he can stand his own. Anywho! They finally get into space and you know the typical space stuff (i.e.- Armageddon, Deep Impact, Space Camp (ha ha!)) Though the space dramas have been beaten to death they always are entertaining. So I suggest seeing the movie, even though its pretty unrealistic.
