The Denver based Flobots are back with their third full length release and this time there are no songs about handlebars…thank Geebus.

I had thought that I had never listened to the Flobots until I found out that they did one of my most hated and most annoying songs in the world…the aforementioned “Handlebars”. Too late now, I have to listen.

I really tried giving “The Circle In The Square” a fair listen, and to be fair there are some half-decent songs on it, but quite honestly their sound is just not something that I would find myself listening to on any given occasion. Their rock sounds are too mainstream pop for me and the hip-hop parts are usually repetitive and annoying…the beats are more ambient and would work better if played at a rave or a techno club.

“The Circle In The Square” and the Flobots in general just isn’t my thing. I’m sure that there are tons of popular kiddies out there that enjoy their sound, but don’t count me among them. I’ll remember next time to pass on the Flobots.

Bottom Line: : Generic rock topped off with white boy hip-hop…how do you think it sounds?
Notable Tracks: Run (Run Run Run), Loneliness
