Sorry Folks, No Image Is Here.

Reggae singer Buju Banton has served his 8 year sentence in prison and will fly home to Jamaica tonight. In 2009, he was arrested on drug-related charges in the United States and his first trial resulted in a hung jury. In 2011, he was convicted on the same drug charge after a controversial second trial that was tainted by jury misconduct. He’s been in prison since 2011 but is out today! Hopefully that means we will get new music from him, although who knows if he plans on returning to the States anytime soon. I know I wouldn’t want to go return after being in prison. In any event, glad to see Buju Banton is out!

Jamaica Gleaner:

Buju Banton has been released from prison after eight years at the McRae Correctional institution.

An officer at the institution said the entertainer whose given name is Mark Myrie, was let out earlier today.

The United States embassy in Kingston is tight-lipped about when the reggae superstar Buju Banton will be returned to the country.
