Cancer – “The Weight Of The World”

Album Reviews | Apr 30th, 2012

Record Label: Flix Records
Genre: Pop Punk

This 6 song EP from MXPX label mates manages to outclass the last six MXPX albums in terms of catchy, memorable tunes.

This Swiss pop punk trio embraces the catchier, riff-driven side of the pop punk genre and manages to keep things interesting for the EP’s seventeen-minute entirety. I’m reminded a lot of Millencolin in their post-ska days mixed with ALL for a little bit of good measure…very catchy and the replay value is moderately high.

“The Weight Of The World” is a good introductory sampler to a hopeful up-and-comer to the punk global community. I’m curious to hear what Cancer’s next full length has in store.

Bottom Line: Catchy pop punk in vein of MXPX and Millencolin.
Notable Tracks: As Long As We Are One, Dying Fairytale, Shooting Star
