Zartako hail from Cuba SPAIN and play punk & hardcore music. Their newest album “Sangre Por Sangre” (“Blood for Blood” – I looked that up by the way) offers 10 tough hardcore tracks, all in Spanish. I have no idea what they are saying, but I like these guys!

The band was heavily influenced by New York Hardcore bands like Madball, Agnostic Front, etc. If they haven’t already, I can definitely see Zartako opening for Madball or AF. They play that similar old school hardcore style; which I’m a big fan of. When I put on track 3, “Quemando el Cielo” it sounded familiar to me but for the life of me, couldn’t figure out the riff to it. I knew it was another band’s song, but since it’s in Spanish; I couldn’t figure it out. Originally, I thought it was Anti-Flag or the The Offspring; but eventually found it was Social Distortion’s “Reach for the Sky.” Wow that took a long time to figure out. The rest of the album is pretty good, with a few standout tracks like “Sangre por Sangre” and “Malas calles.” If you like Spanish speaking hardcore music, check out Zartako!

Bottom Line: A good second album from Spain’s Zartako
Notable Tracks: Malas calles, Sangre por Sangr, Quemando el Cielo
