You maybe have seen Aziz Ansari before; maybe in Parks & Recreation or Scrubs or Human Giant? First and foremost, Aziz is a stand-up comedian and that’s how he started out with his career. This debut CD/DVD “Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening” is from his Comedy Central special. It aired in January 2010, but this performance was recorded and filmed towards the end of his Glow In The Dark tour in Los Angeles at Brentwood Theatre.

I’ll admit, I like Aziz Ansari as a comedian and actor but his voice can be a bit too much for me sometimes. I don’t know why it is, but I can only take him in small doses. His act is funny though because it’s just about random stuff. He talks about gay rights, CVS, getting sniffles on planes, harassing his cousin on Facebook, MTV’s Next, Bonnaroo and Cold Stone. Talk about random!

If you like Aziz’s act, I’d recommend buying the stand-up on DVD. I don’t think his act really requires too much visual like some other comedians, but I still think the DVD would be the better option. This was a funny stand-up act and you should at least check it out once.

Bottom Line: Aziz is a funny comedian but his voice gets to me sometimes
