Wunderbugg is a female-fronted 80s-style synth band. The vocals are good, but the heavy MIDI sequencing goes beyond retro/ironic to distractingly bad. They sound a little like early Madonna fronting Deee-Lite and covering Yes’ 90125, as produced by Trevor Horn if he went insane and decided everything should be run through a Korg Poly-800.

Incredibly cheesy but I guess that’s the point. As Yes once said during their 80s disco era, “Leave It.”

Bottom Line: Somewhere between “Groove is in the Heart” and “Owner of a Lonely Heart.”
